Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Altruiss mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the "App") operated by Altruiss ("we", "us", or "our").

By creating an account, accessing, or using the App, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use the App.

You must be at least 18 years old and capable of entering into a legally binding agreement to use the App. By using the App, you represent that you meet these requirements.

The App is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly allow minors to register or use the service.

To access certain features, you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
• Keep your login credentials secure and confidential
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorised access to your account
• Be responsible for all activity that occurs under your account

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or are inactive for an extended period.

Altruiss is a pet owner–controlled application that allows users to:

• Store and organise their pets' medical documents and health information
• Set reminders for vaccinations, medications, and other care tasks
• Share records with veterinary clinics and other authorised parties
• Access AI-powered general informational assistance regarding pet care

Altruiss is not a veterinary practice management system and does not provide veterinary advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

The App, including any AI-powered features, is intended for general informational and organisational purposes only. It does not constitute veterinary advice, diagnosis, or treatment recommendations.

You must always consult a licensed veterinarian for decisions relating to your pet's health, medical conditions, or treatment. In an emergency, contact a veterinary clinic immediately.

Altruiss is not liable for any decision made, or action taken, in reliance on information presented through the App.

You retain ownership of the content you upload to the App (including documents, photos, and notes — "User Content"). By uploading User Content, you grant Altruiss a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, display, and process it solely for the purpose of providing the service to you.

You agree not to upload content that:

• Infringes any third party's intellectual property, privacy, or other rights
• Is unlawful, fraudulent, or misleading
• Contains malware or harmful code
• Is obtained without proper authority (e.g., clinic records you are not entitled to request)

You are solely responsible for the accuracy and legality of the content you upload.

The App allows you to share records with third parties such as veterinary clinics. When you choose to share, you are responsible for who you share with and the scope of access granted.

Altruiss facilitates secure sharing but does not control how third parties use information once it has been shared. You release Altruiss from any liability arising from third-party use of shared records.

Certain features of the App may require a paid subscription. Subscription fees, billing cycles, and included features will be clearly disclosed at the point of purchase.

• Payments are processed securely by Apple via iOS In-App Purchase. We do not store your payment card details.
• Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled.
• You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
• Except where required by law, subscription fees are non-refundable.

We may change pricing or subscription plans with reasonable notice. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.

For subscriptions purchased through the iOS app (Apple In-App Purchase):

• Monthly Plan – A$4.99 AUD/month: Unlimited pets, AI Vet chat, health reminders, and document storage. Payment charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. Auto-renews monthly unless cancelled.
• Yearly Plan – A$59.00 AUD/year: Unlimited pets, AI Vet chat, health reminders, and document storage. Payment charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. Auto-renews yearly unless cancelled.
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
• Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the same price.
• To manage or cancel an Apple subscription, go to Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions on your iOS device.
• If a free trial is offered, any unused portion of the free trial period will be forfeited upon purchase of a subscription.

The App includes AI-powered features that generate responses using third-party large language models (such as OpenAI).

AI responses are generated automatically and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated.

AI output is provided for general informational purposes only and does not constitute veterinary advice, diagnosis, or treatment recommendations.

You must not rely on AI-generated information as a substitute for professional veterinary advice. Always consult a qualified veterinarian regarding your pet's health.

While Altruiss aims to provide helpful and relevant information, we do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of AI-generated content.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Altruiss is not liable for any loss, damage, or decisions made based on AI-generated responses.

Messages you send to AI features may be transmitted to third-party providers for processing, as described in our Privacy Policy.

You use AI features at your own discretion and risk.

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the App, other user accounts, or our systems
• Interfere with, disrupt, or reverse engineer any part of the App
• Use automated scripts, scrapers, or bots to access the App without our written consent
• Impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity

We may suspend or terminate your account for violations of this section.

All rights, title, and interest in and to the App (excluding User Content) — including software, design, branding, trademarks, and content we provide — are owned by Altruiss or its licensors and protected by intellectual property laws.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the App for personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms. No other rights are granted.

The App integrates with third-party services including Apple (In-App Purchase), Cloudinary, OpenAI, Twilio, and Resend. Your use of those services is also governed by their respective terms and privacy policies. Altruiss is not responsible for the acts or omissions of any third-party service provider.

We strive to keep the App available and functional but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. The App may occasionally be unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or events beyond our control.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the App at any time, with or without notice. We will not be liable to you or any third party for any such changes.

You may terminate your account at any time through the App. We may suspend or terminate your access immediately if you breach these Terms, use the App unlawfully, or create risk to us or other users.

Upon termination, your right to use the App ends, and we may delete your account and data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable law.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, accuracy, or non-infringement.

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Altruiss and its owners, operators, employees, and affiliates are not liable for any loss, damage, cost, or expense arising out of or in connection with your use of the App.

This includes, but is not limited to:

• Any reliance on information provided within the App, including AI-generated content
• Any inaccuracies, omissions, or errors in veterinary records or documents stored within the App
• Any decisions made regarding your pet's health or care
• Any interruption, delay, or unavailability of the App
• Any unauthorised access to or use of your data

Altruiss provides tools to store, organise, and present information, but does not provide veterinary advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

You acknowledge that all decisions relating to your pet's health must be made in consultation with a qualified veterinarian.

Where liability cannot be excluded under applicable law, Altruiss's liability is limited, at its option, to:

• The resupply of the relevant services, or
• The cost of resupplying those services

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any rights you may have under applicable consumer protection laws, including the Australian Consumer Law.

You agree to indemnify and hold Altruiss harmless from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the App, your User Content, your sharing of records with third parties, or your breach of these Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia. You agree that the courts of Australia will have exclusive jurisdiction to resolve any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the App.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Where changes are material, we will notify you by email or in-app notice. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

You are responsible for how you use the App and any information provided within it.

Altruiss is designed to support the storage, organisation, and understanding of your pet's medical history, but it does not replace professional veterinary care.

You acknowledge and agree that:

• You are solely responsible for any decisions made regarding your pet's health
• You will seek advice from a qualified veterinarian before making medical or treatment decisions
• You will not rely on information within the App, including AI-generated content, as a substitute for professional veterinary advice
• You are responsible for ensuring that any information you provide within the App is accurate and up to date

Altruiss is not responsible for any outcomes resulting from decisions made based on information accessed through the App.

You also agree not to misuse the platform, including attempting to alter, misrepresent, or improperly share veterinary records.

Altruiss is designed to preserve the accuracy and integrity of veterinary records.

All veterinary records and documents stored within the App:

• Are stored exactly as received from the source
• Are read-only and cannot be edited, altered, or modified by users or Altruiss
• Remain clearly identifiable as originating from a veterinary clinic or provider where applicable

Altruiss does not create, rewrite, or interpret clinical records. Any structured or simplified information presented within the App (such as Treatment History) is provided for general understanding only and does not replace the original clinical documents.

Users may add their own notes or information within the App. These are clearly separated from veterinary records and identified as user-provided content.

You agree not to:

• Attempt to alter, manipulate, or misrepresent veterinary records
• Use the App in a way that could mislead veterinary professionals or third parties
• Present user-provided content as official veterinary documentation

Altruiss is not responsible for any inaccuracies, misinterpretations, or misuse of veterinary records once accessed or shared by users.

Clinical decisions must always be made by a qualified veterinarian.
